DEPARTMENT PURPOSE:

The Donated Asset & Risk Management department develops, implements, and oversees processes and procedures to ensure proper receipt and management of donated assets including stock, life-income, estates, life insurance, real estate, mineral interest, donor-advised funds, and undesignated gifts; and maintains proper insurance coverage for the Foundation.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Donated Asset & Risk Management Student is responsible for assisting the Donated Asset & Risk Management department in monitoring, reporting, and maintaining the planned gift assets of the Foundation.

KEY AREAS OF FOCUS (3-4 main areas with bullets under).

Receipt and Manage Donated Assets

  • Responsible for scanning and quality control of data in the document management system
  • Responsible for establishing and disposing departmental files per retention schedule and maintain tracking systems.
  • Review trust and annuity beneficiary payments for accuracy.
  • Assist in receipting of gifts of securities.
  • Process departmental mail.
  • Assist with the review and preparation of audit schedules
  • Process address updates for planned gift assets.
  • Responsible for scanning estate documents, updating tracking worksheets, assist in completing the checklist, assist in completing the data sheet, and drafting initial communication.
  • Assist in the administration of gifts of donated life insurance.
  • Clerical tasks including but not limited to process vouchers, draft documents, filing, copying, mailing, ect.
