SALARY: Between $95,000-$123,000 based on experience

SCHEDULE: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM in-office, with the option of a 36-hour work week if projects are on track for completion. This position is currently remote, but if the company establishes an office in the area, it may transition to a hybrid work arrangement

WORK LOCATION: This is a remote position, but applicants must reside in the DFW, Texas or San Antonio, Texas area to facilitate travel for site visits as needed. Periodic in-person meetings will take place at our main office In Norman, Ok for strategic planning.

Job Description

As a critical member of our team, the Project Architect is responsible for overseeing the design and execution of construction documents for our clients. Key responsibilities include participating in meetings with clients and the A/E team to discuss and collaborate on project needs and create a design solution. Works closely with the Senior Project Architect to ensure that the drawings meet all requirements and provide timely communication on status, projections of workload, and potential risks that could prevent projects from being completed on time and within budget.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and program layout of projects; coordinate and integrate engineering elements into a unified design for client review and approval
  • Develop comprehensive construction documents for various project phases, including Conceptual Design, Schematic Design, and Detailed Design, while overseeing the activities of team members involved in this process
  • Apply knowledge of architectural design, construction detailing, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials and systems
  • Assist in researching and coordinating materials and products for project specifications, ensuring the best choices for design and functionality.
  • Review work of and direct production team on construction details and drawings
  • Coordinate and direct consultants and vendors to maintain design intent.
  • Be proactive regarding schedule deadlines and consultant check sets and provide regular status updates to the Project Manager
  • Present issues to the Senior Project Architect concerning project program goals that may impact budget and timeline
  • Maintain project vision while ensuring constructability, code compliance, specifications, and quality control
  • Communicate and interact with clients at the discretion of the Senior Project Architect
  • Mentor architect interns, providing guidance and support in their professional development while overseeing their contributions to projects to ensure alignment with company standards and objectives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture from a regionally accredited university
  • 4+ years of architectural experience, preferably working with government and commercial contracts
  • Actively licensed Architect in good standing
  • Experienced with industry-standard software: drafting, graphics, presentations, spreadsheets and project tracking
  • Highly proficient in Revit (5+ years)
  • Understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, building construction, building systems, and site requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of construction detailing, with the ability to prepare complete sets of construction documents
  • Ability to solve complex architectural design and construction problems with efficient design solutions: technically creative, open-minded, and analytical
  • Highly experienced in communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and contribute as a reliable, solutions-oriented team player.
