The following position is available with the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education.
APPRENTICESHIP MANAGER
Work-Based Learning
Manage and coordinate statewide work-based learning efforts including the expansion of apprenticeships. Provide leadership and support to companies within Oklahoma's ecosystems and the CareerTech system to develop youth and adult apprenticeships. Assist in work-based learning initiatives to meet Oklahoma's current and future workforce needs through business and education partnerships. Actively represents the agency and system in workforce development activities as assigned.
Position officed on-site at CareerTech in Stillwater, OK.
School and industry visits and some overnight travel may be required.
Hiring contingent upon successful completion of background check.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
•Bachelor's degree
•Three years' experience in workforce development, education, career development, or educational partnerships in business and industry
•Conduct professional development
PREFERRED:
•Experience in workforce connections, career development or community partnerships
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Lead, manage, and empower staff to drive the growth of apprenticeship, internship, and other work-based learning opportunities in the state.
•Provides leadership and technical assistance to employers and CareerTech partners seeking to build and sustain talent pipelines through apprenticeship, internship, and other work-based learning opportunities.
•Collaborate, support and promote system engagement with local workforce development boards; Career Techs; K-12 counselors, students, superintendents, and other change-makers to create business-educational partnerships.
•Collaborate, support and promote CareerTech schools to work with local chambers of commerce; economic development groups; employer associations; and individual employers to develop sector partnerships and individual apprenticeship and internship programs.
•Research and implement new and innovative work-based learning strategies beneficial to internal and external stakeholders.
•Conduct periodic surveys of employers and technology centers to gauge satisfaction with work-based learning process.
•Collaborate with internal and external partners to increase work-based learning opportunities to support career pathway development and completion.
•Serve as liaison with U.S. Department of Labor to advance and expand Registered Apprenticeships in Oklahoma.
•Manage and develop assigned staff to apply system resources effectively and efficiently towards accomplishing the mission of CareerTech by advancing work-based learning.
•Manage deployment of grant funding for work-based learning and apprenticeships.
•Manage fiscal year and staffing resources for work-based learning and apprenticeship initiatives, including the deployment and oversight of grant funding. Maintain divisional travel budget.
Research and pursue additional grant funding opportunities to support work-based learning and apprenticeships expansion.
SALARY/BENEFITS: $60,959.54 - $68,633.47 commensurate with education or experience.

•The amount of your allowance, $9000-$20000, is determined based upon the dependents you choose to include in health coverage.

Total salary and benefits package valued at $76,264.40 - $84,515.94.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY: Supervise Apprenticeship Specialists.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals and write complex documents in a prescribed format. Ability to effectively present information and communicate complex ideas to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with basic mathematical formulas.
REASONING SKILLS: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Requires ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems; ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of workforce development, leadership skills, communication skills both oral and written, ability to work one on one and in large groups, excellent computer skills, willing to travel, ability to plan and organize, knowledge of career development process, demonstrate high work ethic and standards, negotiating skills, professional social media utilization, ability to handle multiple priorities and basic budgetary oversight skills.
