JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for leading, educating, supporting, and encouraging the organization in its quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI) efforts. This is accomplished through implementation of the QAPI Program and Plan, which includes facilitating QAPI projects and teams throughout the organization. Monitors quality measure processes, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure criteria are met and facilitate improvement of care. Responsible for coordinating, analyzing, and presenting QAPI data for the ongoing assessment and improvement of organizational performance. Responsible for organizing and minutes for the QAPI Committee meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Three to five years' experience in increasingly responsible positions in health care with demonstrated experience in quality, performance improvement, and peer review activities preferred.
  • CPHQ certification preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office, healthcare database systems, and other applicable software applications as necessary.
  • Working knowledge of Medisolv, Clinical Database, Quality Net, and Meditech preferred.
  • Able to convey a positive image to the organization family and community.
  • Working knowledge of patient quality, safety, and satisfaction performance measures and indicators, data definitions, and sources and relevant national databases such as AHRQ, NAHQ, and NQF, and benchmarks; knowledge of healthcare quality, safety, and satisfaction data design, collection, aggregation, and summarization; and knowledge of QAPI models, methods tools, tracking and trending, and systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, including data entry, abstraction, interpretation, presentation, management, and development of charts and data analysis.
  • Lean methodology knowledge helpful.
  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Able to speak clearly and distinctly with staff, providers, patients, and families.
  • Must have adequate vision, or correctable with glass/contacts, and hearing perception or adequate hearing with corrections.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage stressful situations and complete the necessary work responsibilities.
  • Able to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time throughout the work schedule, with some light lifting and bending.
  • Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to operate business office machines and technology.
