Certified Home Health Aide CHHA

Why choose Stillwater Medical at Home? JOB SUMMARY: Assists in the care and support of the patient at their place of residence, utilizing technical nursing skills with minimum assistance. Makes daily home visits with personal vehicle within 50-mile radius of Stillwater.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Home Health Aide Certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to function in stressful situations.
• Employed by Stillwater Medical Center for a minimum of one year or one year of experience.
• Successfully completes the written competency exam and the skills demonstration evaluation required by SMC Home Health.
• Home telephone and dependable transportation required.
• Current CPR card or completion of course within 30 days of hire.

• Having and maintaining a valid Oklahoma Driver's License and satisfactory driving record is a condition of employment. Automobile liability insurance required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking and standing.
• Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses, to read and write.
• Able to hear, or correctable with hearing devices, and able to talk to converse with others in person and over the phone.
• Able to hear, see, and feel to accurately assess, monitor, and administer care.
• Able to frequently lift at least 60 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel.
• Possess fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to give care (i.e.: vital signs, feed patients, and handle instruments).
• Able to work in a latex-burdened environment.
